SHINee the Asian Beatles ! Friday, 24 June 2011
Following the successful Japanese Debut Premium Reception at Abbey Road Studios, London, SHINee have been dominating the headlines of numerous Japanese Sports newspapers, whilst being compared to The Beatles!
On June 21st, Japanese Sports newspapers such as Sports Hochi, Junichi Sports, Sankei Sports, Sports Nippon, Nikkan Sports and Daily Sports published detailed reports of the showcase held at the Abbey Road Studios.
Sports Hochi emphasized on the large number of fans waiting outside of the Studios and quoted from officials that “There hasn’t been such a fever since The Beatles.” They also stated that “To perform at a sacred place where masters, such as Stevie Wonder and Rod Stewart have performed is the first milestone for Asian artists. SHINee has taken the first step towards making their mark in the global music scene.” The article also quoted from SHINee’s speech; “We wish to go down in history just like The Beatles.”
In Junichi Sports, the headline read “SHINee is the ‘Beatles of Asia’, first Asian artist to hold live session in Abbey Road Studios.” It was reported that “SHINee showed full potential with their outstanding dancing and singing ability.”
Sankei Sports reported “An Enthusiasm since The Beatles“, while Sports Nippon read “SHINee made the first step toward the global marketplace.”
Looks like SHINee has made a huge step up! Even though they only debuted about three years ago, SHINee have already received much attention globally, judging by the huge crowd of fans who gathered on June 19th, and the great expectations they are receiving from Japan for their Japanese debut. Not only SHINee, but also just Kpop in general has become global, judging by the recent SMTown concert in Paris!
Also, do look forward to SHINee’s attendance at the MTV VMAJ (Music Video Awards Japan) which is to be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on June 25th.
