The hottest day ever


   It's the year 2156. Sun flares have reached the Earth, hitting it like a meteorite. When it first hit, many had died instantly. Evaporating like water. No one knew when it would have reached Earth. The scientists only knew about it a few minutes it crashed into Earth. Plants died, people died, and the ground had their shadows imprinted on it as they vaporized into the air, becoming one as wind. The lands near the equator turned into a wasteland in the next few seconds it had hit Earth.
   Those who survived, heaved reliefs, being happy that they were alive. It is human nature to be thankful at the same time, being selfish but was this the end?
   The flares had hit the Earth so suddenly that scientists did not know what would happen. True that there are side effects, those still alive might not be so happy after all.
   It's the year 2160. When people have rebuilt their houses, still wincing every time the mention of the tragic incident that happened in 2156. But that was when things truly happen. The Flare had infected everyone in the world. The Flare is a disease that is rooted in your brain that would start burning up all your nerves, meddling with your brain nerves. At first, when you are found with the disease, you would be sent to the Scorch. The lands near the equator. Then slowly, but surely, the Flare will start burning up your nerves, making it difficult for you to comprehend the human race. Thinking up is down and right is left, you have no sense of common sense, no sense of what you are doing and what is food. These infected people are called the Cranks. The Cranks that have not yet gone insane, starts by building up food, taking scraps from everywhere and most of all, the tries to evade the Cranks that have long past the Gone. The Cranks that have long past the Gone does not know what they are doing. Killing everyone they could see. Mindless killings. The Rich however, will receive a medicine, the Bliss, that will numb all your senses, all your nerves, giving you only dreams while the Flare infects the brain. Once, they receive the medicine, they will awaken three times: First, when they are going into the semi-insanity if they have not yet receive the Bliss. Second, when they have gone past the Gone and thirdly, when the Flare melts your entire brain. The victim, will only awaken, saying words of their dreams and die. There is no cure for the Flare.
   Not yet.
   A group of scientists found children that are immune to the disease. The Flare is rooted so deep within them yet, there was no effect of the Flare in them. These children are specially trained and sent into experiments. There are called the Alphas. Scientists found out that the cure was nothing like your typical cough medicine. It was something far more advanced. It was psychological.
   It's 27 September 2165. They found the cure after sending the Alphas into the Scorch for trials. Many died on their way, trying to battle the immense hot weather, battle through the thunderstorm that would vaporize one if one was strike by lightning. But most of all, they have to battle through the Cranks that have long past the Gone. The cure was found. The scientists have finally gotten their hands on the blueprints. It might be the end.
   But no. Three minutes ago, a radar appeared on the screen. Another wave of Sun flares. This time, this was stronger, much more intense. This might just be the one to wipe out the entire Earth, the entire human race.
   I could feel it beating in my temples. The Flare. It is going to consume me soon. I could feel myself could insane. Was this how all the poor people have felt? Feeling yourself going crazy. I was one of the 100 children being experimented. I had just received back all my memories. I was kept in the safe haven all this while. But, i was the few that are not immune to the Flare. Just only 95% immune.
   Today will be the hottest day ever. Where the most intense Sun flares hit Earth. I know it will be the hottest day. The thermometer have been shooting up in degrees Celsius. 50 degrees Celsius. 75 degrees Celsius. It had gone past the highest record.
   It is the hottest day ever.
